Free Photo Book!!!!

I had a friend on Facebook post about this website and wanted to share it with all of you. You can get a free photo book once month by just signing up at hotprints.com. The reason they are free is because they have sponsors that put ads (non offensive) into the book but they are on separate detachable pages that you can remove from the book. I just made one and I'm waiting for it to come (I heard it takes about 2 weeks to get to you). It was about 14 pages worth of photos that you can put up to 6 photos on a page. They are pretty simple but hey they are free! You can pay for more if you want them but you can get a free one each month and even shipping is free! So yeah, I just thought I would share this great find in case anyone was interested.

For Mike

Ok, so this post is really for Mike's family because I know they will get a kick out of it. I don't have a picture for comparison but Mike used to ride his rocking horse like this too.

For those of you who don't see the humor in this picture, I have seen numerous photos of Mike when he was little riding his rocking horse with no pants on. Apparently that is the only way to ride a rocking horse. hehe

Christmas outfit

Emma got this super cute Christmas-y outfit from her aunt that I had her wear this Sunday. I have been dying to put her in it for church but have been not-so-patiently waiting until after Thanksgiving. I realized that she had enough hair now that I could even put it in 2 pigtails and she looked sooo adorable. Unfortunately she wasn't being very cooperative with the picture taking so they didn't turn out that well but I wanted to post the cute outfit anyways. So here it is...
This was the only one she was somewhat smiling in.

but you could see her outfit a little better in this one.

Let's play catch-up

I have gotten worse and worse at writing here but I guess that is the way it goes sometimes. So here is what we have been up to...

  • Went to California to visit my family at the beginning of Nov. Emma and I went for a week and Mike just went for the weekend. It was tons of fun and Emma loved have kids to play with all the time.
  • The day before Thanksgiving we painted Christmas ornaments. I wasn't really looking forward to Thanksgiving all that much because I don't feel well enough to eat much of anything these days. I have been waiting and waiting for Thanksgiving to be over so that I could start decorating for Christmas. Anyways, Emma LOVED painting her ornament and everything else around her.

She kept wanting more and more colors but in the end it all ended up as one color.

This was the color of her bath water when she was done.

  • We had a really nice Thanksgiving with yummy turkey and the traditional side dishes. It was just the 3 of us and it was a really nice and relaxing day.

  • And then today, we FINALLY got to decorate for Christmas. We even went and got our Christmas tree. Emma loved helping decorate it although I'm worried that she like to "help" undecorate it now as well. Hopefully I will be able to keep her from destroying it without too much trouble.

We're still here!

Wow, it's been a while since my last post so I thought I would just give an update about what's been going on around here recently.

We went to the pumpkin patch with the Mother's group from our ward last week. Emma loved it and got really dirty. She really enjoyed riding in the wheelbarrow (until it started getting close to nap time at least).

We went out to see my sister-in-law last Saturday for her birthday. It was a lot of fun! We went down to this little beach park and walked on the pier and played on the playground. I unfortunately don't have any pictures though.

I've been working really hard on a cross stitch stocking for Emma. I don't think it will be done by Christmas but maybe... and if not then it will at least be done by next Christmas. My mom made one of these for all of us (well, she is still working on the last one. There are SEVEN of us after all.) so I am going to try to do the same for my kids.

We had some friends over and made some spooky Halloween sugar cookies. Emma didn't love making and decorating them as much as she did eating the dough and all the toppings.

A friend of mine let me borrow a book that she really enjoyed and I loved it as well. I read it 2 days! It's called Howl's Moving Castle and I definitely recommend it if you like fantasy books.

I've been laying on the couch a lot while trying not to lose my cookies. Poor Emma has been stuck watching Dora the Explorer and Strawberry Shortcake a lot of the time when I don't feel like getting up off the couch. She doesn't seem to mind but it makes me feel really bad so I try to do it as little as possible.

And coming up next week...
We will be having our first ultrasound on Thursday!
Then, on Friday, we will be heading down to California to visit my family! I can't wait!

DON'T do that!

Emma is so funny. I feel like she makes me laugh all day long. She really likes to tease us now and knows exactly what she is doing. She frequently doesn't want to give us kisses any more when we ask for them but we have found a tricky way around it. We've found that if we say Emma DON'T give me a kiss and act like we don't want one then she will come running over and give us a kiss and think she is soo funny. Also, when we are trying to get her to come to us (especially when it is time to get her dressed) she will walk up as close to us as she can without being caught and then RUN in the other direction. Then she looks at us with this impish smile like ha ha ha, I know you can't get me. She really does take after her Dad.

Interesting day

We had our car broken into yesterday for the first time. They broke the little back triangle window and they took the radio face plate. It looks like they tried to pry out the radio but couldn't for some reason. I think they may have broken the faceplate when they tried to pry the radio out. They must have been inexperienced or something because they left the gps and they don't seem to have taken anything but the faceplate which wont do them any good.

I will miss having the radio because it was the one thing that kept Emma happy in the car when she was getting upset but I feel like it could have been so much worse. Actually after it all happened I wasn't feeling angry, or upset like I would have thought that I would. I was feeling very blessed that nothing more important was taken. I feel like the Lord was protecting us and that he is always watching out for us. Instead of feeling more worried about our safety I feel more secure in the knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me and is always there for me. I'm so thankful that we have the gospel in our lives.

I also realized that the thing that I was most upset about was that there was glass in Emma's carseat. The only thing I could think about that was that if Emma ever got cut by it (I vacuumed it out and was hoping I hadn't missed anything) I would be super angry at them. It's funny how this type of situation makes us really realize what is most important to us.
